    Here Comes The Dreamer

thread by thread, woven just for you, the Father’s intricate detail was given to you. you held out your arms one at a time as He placed the exquisite coat of many colors upon your shoulders. it was your identity and His favor, that marked you as His but this was the very mark that put the brothers at odds with you.

“Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children because he was the son of his old age, and he made him a long tunic with sleeves.” -genesis 37:3

you began to dream of the future and couldn’t contain telling your friends. you opened your mouth and they shut off their ears at the thought of your dream turning to reality and so they turned into enemies.

“And they said one to another, See here comes this dreamer…we shall see what will become of his dreams!” -genesis 37:19

the Father’s love rested upon your shoulders, until they ripped off the robe of your identity. but may i beckon to ask you…

if the enemy throws you in a pit, will your dreams die with it?

“then they took him and cast him into the pit which was empty; there was no water in it.” -genesis 37:24

did you know that a pit is a well without water? a pit is a place you never want to fall in, but a well is a place you want to draw from. you can’t see a pit but you can always spot a well. so how did you end up in this deep dry place? that place where you think no one even knows exists. the girl once determined to dream now feeling destined to die all alone. so how do you get out? if you can’t change your circumstances you must change your perspective.

the only thing left to do to get out of a pit is fill it with praise.

so you pour out your praise and the water begins to fill up all of those cracks that people couldn’t see until your swimming up to the top.

“Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” -john 4:13-14

When they looked UP, behold, they saw a caravan of Ishmaelities coming from Gilead, with their camels bearing gum from the styrax tree, balm, and myrrh, to carry them down to Egypt”

in a pit, you have nowhere to look but up. do you see Jesus on the rescue? here He comes with a bittersweet fragrance (gum), warning that there’s good news and bad news. the bad news is, “they want to bury you”, the good news is, “they’re going to sell you instead.” the good news is, “you’re getting out of the pit”, the bad news is “you’re going to (a different pit) jail.”

He comes with balm used greatly for healing wounds, to reveal that He has seen your hurt and He’s come to heal.

He comes with myrrh, to unfold the process you’re in, which is a laborius and delicate procedure for only exceptional skilled workmen. the only one capable of doing this is Christ, but He will use people to extend His hand. to get something this precious, the workman must hit the plant with a specific implement slowly and methodically to detach the juice from the flower. sometimes detaching our dreams from our soul, revives the hope when He makes them reality. dying to our dreams actually brings them to life.

He comes through the deserts on a camel: a strong creature made to carry burdens, very fit for its purpose in every way, & able to travel many days without water.

HE IS COMING TO YOU. HE IS MEETING YOU IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR DESERT. HE SEES YOUR PIT AND HE’S COME TO PULL YOU OUT FOR THE PURPOSE YOU WERE MADE FOR!

“…the brothers pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the well…” -genesis 37:28

Joseph to turned a pit into a well. will you?
